Their deep knowledge in materials engineering enables them to create complex shapes and sturdy components, making them a reliable partner for clients in need of high-quality Aluminium 5086 forgings.
Aluminium 5086 is a non-heat-treatable alloy that mainly consists of aluminum with magnesium (4.0–4.9%) and trace amounts of manganese (0.2–0.5%) and chromium (0.05–0.25%). This unique composition gives it remarkable corrosion resistance, particularly in seawater and challenging environments. Its mechanical properties feature a tensile strength of about 240–310 MPa, yield strength ranging from 125–270 MPa, and elongation between 12–25%, depending on the temper. With good formability, moderate hardness, and excellent weldability, Aluminium 5086 forgings are perfect for creating lightweight, strong, and corrosion-resistant components.

Aluminum 5086 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and limited strength at elevated temperatures. It is better suited for marine and structural applications.
Aluminum 5086 offers high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and weldability. It is ideal for marine environments, aerospace applications, and custom forgings requiring durability, lightweight properties, and easy fabrication.
Aluminum 5086's excellent workability enables easy forging, allowing it to maintain strength and formability. However, its susceptibility to cold working requires careful temperature control during forging to prevent cracking.
These forgings find extensive use in marine applications, such as ship hulls, decks, and offshore structures, thanks to their exceptional resistance to saltwater corrosion. They are also utilized in the automotive and transportation sectors for structural components, fuel tanks, and chassis parts where strength and durability are essential. Furthermore, this alloy is ideal for pressure vessels, industrial equipment, and heavy-duty machinery that face corrosive environments. Its blend of corrosion resistance, machinability, and high strength makes Aluminium 5086 forgings both versatile and dependable for demanding applications.
