The high performance nickel-based superalloy called Nimonic R04261 bar and rod was used for primary applications at the high temperature region, mainly used in gas turbines. Its composition ranges approximately between 55-63% of Ni, 16-20% of Cr, 3-5% Mo, 2.5-4.5% Ti, 1.5-3% Al and traces of carbon, boron, silicon, and iron. In the case of this alloy, great strength is noted at high elevated temperatures with adequate oxidation resistance coupled with excellent creep resistance. The mechanical properties of the material are tensile strength between 900-1,100 MPa, yield strength between 600-750 MPa, and elongation between 20-25%. The usage of Nimonic R04261 is extensive in aerospace and energy.
