These alloys usually consist of Cr 16-18%, Mn 8-10%, Ni 3-5%, Si 1-2%, N 0.30-0.40%, and Fe balance. The alloys are characterized by good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Nitronic 32 tensile strength is around 620-690 MPa, yield strength around 310-345 MPa, and elongation is 35-45%. This material has enhanced the toughness and work-hardening rate through its high manganese and nitrogen content. It provides superior wear and galling resistance compared to conventional stainless steels. Its performance works well from cryogenic to elevated temperatures.
